Sicamous Comes Together to Celebrate 100 Years of the Red Barn
The community has once again shown its creativity and enthusiasm for a very special local celebration.
Chamber member Eagle Valley Arts Council’s Garden of Hope: 100 Years of the Red Barn Mural tile kit project has been a tremendous success, with all available tile kits now handed out to community members eager to create their own piece of this historic celebration.
The project invites local residents to contribute a hand-painted tile that will become part of a commemorative mural celebrating 100 years of the Red Barn. Each individual creation will come together to form one larger community artwork — a lasting tribute to an important piece of Sicamous history.
With all the kits now distributed, the next step is bringing those creations back together.
Completed tiles must be returned by October 25, 2026. Tiles can be dropped off at the Sicamous & District Chamber of Commerce / Visitor Centre during regular business hours. Participants are asked to return their completed tile in its original bag.
For alternate drop-off arrangements, contact Tammy at 587-989-1672 or email info@eaglevalleyartscouncil.com.
Participants are also encouraged to watch their email and text messages for follow-up information from the Eagle Valley Arts Council, including important project updates. Be sure to check your junk or spam folder as well.
A Community Mural for a Historic Milestone
Projects like this are a wonderful reminder of the role local arts and culture play in bringing a community together. What started as a tile kit has become an opportunity for people throughout Sicamous to add their own creativity to a shared piece of history.
The finished mural will be unveiled and dedicated in early 2027, with the official date to be announced.
The Sicamous & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to support and highlight the work of our members and the community organizations that help make Sicamous such a vibrant place to live, visit and do business.
We look forward to seeing all of the individual creations come together as one beautiful celebration of 100 years of the Red Barn.
