Leave Your Mark on Sicamous History with the Eagle Valley Arts Council Mural Project
The Sicamous & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to highlight Chamber member Eagle Valley Arts Council and their exciting community mural project celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Historic Red Barn.
In partnership with Mural Mosaic Canada, the Eagle Valley Arts Council is inviting community members aged 16 and older to help create a permanent public art installation that celebrates one of Sicamous’ most cherished landmarks. The completed mural will be made up of hundreds of individually hand-painted tiles, each created by a member of the community. Together, these unique pieces will form a stunning work of art that will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for generations to come.
One of the best parts of this project is that no artistic experience is required. Whether you’re an accomplished artist or have never picked up a paintbrush before, everyone is welcome to participate. Each tile kit includes everything needed to complete your artwork, including the mural tile, paints, supplies, easy-to-follow instructions, and access to Mural Mosaic Canada’s online learning portal with step-by-step video tutorials and painting tips.
Participants will follow simple colour guidelines while adding their own creative touch, making every tile unique while contributing to a larger community masterpiece.
This project is more than just creating art—it’s an opportunity to become part of Sicamous’ history. Every painted tile will represent the creativity, pride, and community spirit that make our town such a special place.
If you would like to participate, register and arrange to pick up your tile kit by emailing info@eaglevalleyartscouncil.com or by calling or texting 587-989-1672.
We encourage residents to take part in this unique initiative and help create a lasting legacy that celebrates our shared history, inspires creativity, and honours 100 years of the Historic Red Barn.
