R.W. Bruhn Bridge Update: Full Daytime Closures & Boat Launch Closure
There are two important updates regarding the R.W. Bruhn Bridge & Approaches project.
Full Daytime Bridge Closures Resume September 16
Full daytime closures of the R.W. Bruhn Bridge are expected to resume September 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Finlayson Street Boat Launch Closed September 14–23
The Finlayson Street Boat Launch will be closed from September 14 to 23, 2026, to allow crews to complete essential construction work for the R.W. Bruhn Bridge & Approaches project.
The closure is required to accommodate storm drainage system installation, which involves open excavation directly adjacent to the boat launch.
During the closure:
- Pedestrians will still be able to access the walkway to Sicamous Beach Park.
- Short-term five-minute holds may occur during working hours, between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Several other public boat launches are available in the area.
Businesses that rely on waterfront access, boating traffic and late-season visitors should be aware of the temporary closure and consider communicating the change to customers where appropriate.
