The 21st Annual Sicamous Fungi Festival is proudly partnered with Chamber members Sicamous Legion Branch 99 and the District of Sicamous.
Get ready to explore the fascinating world of mushrooms and fungi at one of Sicamous’ most unique annual events! The 21st Annual Sicamous Fungi Festival returns to downtown Sicamous from September 18–20, 2026, bringing together mushroom enthusiasts, curious beginners, families, food lovers, nature lovers and visitors for an entire weekend of learning, exploration and community fun.
Hosted on the grounds of the Sicamous Royal Canadian Legion Br.99, the festival has become a wonderful fall tradition in the community. The Legion serves as the festival headquarters and a gathering place throughout the weekend, with mushroom displays, presentations, demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow fungi fans. The festival organizers specifically recognize the Sicamous Legion Branch #99 for its ongoing support.
More Than Just Mushrooms
While mushrooms are at the heart of the festival, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The weekend features guided foraging and educational walks, mushroom identification, expert presentations, cooking and food demonstrations, art, a farmers’ market, music and more.
One of the highlights is the opportunity to get out into the forests surrounding Sicamous with knowledgeable mushroom experts. Guided walks provide participants with the chance to learn about local fungi, discover wild mushrooms and have specimens identified, while also learning about safe and responsible mushroom identification and foraging.
For those who prefer to stay closer to town, the festival also offers educational walks and presentations, making it accessible whether you’re an experienced mushroom hunter or simply curious about the incredible fungi found throughout the Shuswap.
Learning, Exploring & Celebrating Our Forests
The festival is about more than identifying edible mushrooms. It provides an opportunity to learn about the important role fungi play in our forests and ecosystems, as well as their potential applications in food, medicine and environmental health.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can explore mushroom displays, attend presentations, take part in demonstrations and discover new perspectives on the world beneath our feet. The festival’s mission is to promote the safe enjoyment and appreciation of all things fungi while creating a self-sustaining event for the benefit of the public.
A Weekend That Supports Local
